Men Transforming Men
(MTM) has been proud to sponsor Richard Rohr OFM in presenting a
series of talks at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition
Centre to offer men who are interested in men’s work the
opportunity to learn about this vital ministry and how we
can be part of the solution.

MTM runs the Men’s Rites of Passage program
developed by Richard.

Centre for Action and Contemplation(CAC)

"The Center for Action and Contemplation, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, was founded in 1987 by Franciscan Father Richard Rohr, who saw the need for a training/formation center. It would serve as a place of discernment and growth for activists and those interested in social service ministries—a place to be still, and learn how to integrate a contemplative lifestyle with compassionate service. The Center’s purpose would be to serve not only as a forum for peaceful, non-violent social change but also as a radical voice for renewal and encouragement."

MALE "Men As Learners and Elders (M.A.L.Es) is a program offered by the Center for Action and Contemplation.

Fr. Richard Rohr, OFM has been exploring issues of male spirituality since 1987. From this work Richard observed that men in our western culture were lacking in their experience and understanding of the transcendent power of God. He has established Rites of Passage programs to help guide men through a formal initiation process that they may have missed during their critical developmental period as young men."

Green House The Green House, Buderim -- That the Land and It's People

Be Presserved in Harmony

Over the last few years my family (four households) has returned to our original family land at Buderim which includes 25 acres of bush. We are keen environmentalists and are in the process of obtaining Nature Refuge Status through the State Government. This will ensure that the land can never be developed. We have also been attempting to develop community access.

A house we own, at 168 Lindsay Rd called the Green House, has been renovated to be used to as a base for day programs or small groups camping. Click the arrow for more details.

Catholic Earthcare Australia

A Quote from the APOSTOLIC LETTER OF POPE PAUL VI
"It is with confidence that we see the Spirit of the Lord pursuing his work in the hearts of men and in every place gathering together Christian communities conscious of their responsibilities in society. On all the continents ~~"
From Catholic Earthcare Australia Site
The life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, brings salvation not only to humankind, but also, in a different way, to the whole of creation.

In the letter to the Colossians we see that not only are all things created in Christ, but all things are reconciled in him:
"He is the image of the unseen God and the first born of all creation, for in him were created all things in heaven and on earth: everything visible and everything invisible... Before anything was created, he existed, and he holds all things in unity". (Col. 1:15 - 17)

The Wellspring Community

Wellspring Community is a dispersed ecumenical community of men and women who seek to follow Christ, live prophetically, see God’s presence in each moment and person, and work for reconciliation.

Why is The Windmill our Symbol
An Australian icon like Vegemite, the windmill expresses our desire to live an Australian Christian faith that is integral to our culture and environment.

A windmill is wind driven.

We rotate with purpose. (See Wellspring Community for More)

The Way - New Testament Background

To understand the background to “The Way” in the New Testament it is good to study these passages. Hopefully people will offer links to good Bible Studies (Audio or Written) on the Bible Passages below.

In John's Gospel 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

To dig deeper into this idea it is good to study:

John's Gospel Ch 13 to 16 where Jesus recognizing that his disciples have followed him faithfully in the flesh. He now prepares them to continue their pilgrimage when he would no longer be walking beside them. He stresses that God the Holy Spirit (also called the Comforter) would take over and extend this vital companionship with believers.

A Good Bible Study Activity is to search for verses that set out just how terrified the disciples were of this upcoming change and the passion of Jesus at his crucifixation.

John's Gospel Ch 17 shows Jesus praying for his disciples concerning all these things.

Read about the times when Jesus after his resurrection met his disciples and prepared them for their new role. One notable example is Matthew 28:19. Throughout their pilgrimages of life they were to make disciples of people everywhere. This great growth in capacity is spelled out very clearly in Acts 2 which describes how the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus' disciples in the form of tongues of fire. Peter's powerful sermon recorded in this chapter show his development in courage, wisdom and skill.

Early in the book of Acts, followers of Jesus were described as followers of “The Way”. Passages that illustrate this are:

Acts Chapter 9 Saul (Paul) set out to imprison “people of the Way, followers of Jesus. “------ and asked for letters --- to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, both men and women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.”
Paul again (now a follower of the way himself) Romans 6:18-23

“You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.”

2 Timothy 3:10-4:5 Paul sets out for Timothy the standard for living Jesus Way.
